Automotive Coatings

Gemme Micron is well known for all films in the automotive coating industry. As already mentioned micronized Blanc Fine is used in electro deposition coatings for partially replacing titanium dioxide. In addition it can be used in top coats, again due to easy dispersion and excellent weathering resistance. Ultrafine grades like Gemme Micron series products can stabilize pigments against flocculation. Due to their extreme fineness they are totally transparent, even at high loadings. Therefore, they are used to increase the solid content of metallic for example without losing the depth of colour. Also, the leveling of metallic flakes is influenced or controlled by Gemme Micron.

Gemme White barytes products is used in high performance braking systems due to its resistance to high temperatures created by friction forces under braking.
